This course provides the participant with a detailed working knowledge of basic airflow principles, local exhaust system design procedures, local exhaust hood laboratory, dilution ventilation system design, fan principles and fan selection, selection and use of measurement instruments, and air cleaner selection. Traditional lecture sessions, design problem sessions, and laboratory sessions are used throughout the course to aid the participants' understanding of the subject material. Hands-on laboratory sessions are used to teach the selection and use of ventilation measurement instrumentation and techniques for evaluating the performance of existing local exhaust and dilution ventilation systems.
